Session Description: Recent legal developments from 2023 and early January 2024 will be covered. These will include legal developments by courts and government agencies in employment discrimination and harassment, enforcements non-competition clauses, religious and disability accommodations, public policy wrongful discharge and retaliation claims, salary history bans, the FLSA, religious accommodations, Pregnant Worker Fairness Act regulations, enforceability of releases and waivers and the honest belief defense etc.

Speake Bio: Priscilla Hapner has over thirty years of experience in coaching, advising and representing management in organizations of all sizes in the private, public and non-profit sectors concerning compliance with state and federal employment statutes. This includes the Family and Medical Leave Act; statutes prohibiting employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation; and laws affecting compensation, trade secrets, non-competition, whistleblowing, hiring, firing, layoffs, union relations, record-keeping, affirmative action, and privacy. She graduated summa cum laude from the Ohio State University College of Law, practiced with several national firms, made partner and then later formed her own practice and has also worked temporarily as inhouse employment counsel for two public entities. She is admitted to practice in Ohio, and federal courts in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Michigan and the federal courts of Appeal for the D.C., Second, Third and Sixth Circuits.

Session Description: We will talk about the latest research, neurobiology and diagnostic criteria for burnout, how it differs from depression and strategies for managing and overcoming it.

Speake Bio: Darlene has earned her undergraduate degree from Ohio Christian University in Counseling and her graduate degree from The University of Dayton. She has over 25+ years of experience counseling in academic, community mental health, church and private settings including many years of supervision, practice management and leadership experience
